100mph biker lands lengthy ban

RECKLESS: Luke Fleming
 A RECKLESS motorcyclist who showed a “total disregard” for other people as he raced through the Wee County at over 100 mph has been banned from driving for a year.
 
Boy racer Luke Fleming, 22,  sped off on July 5 last year as police pulled in a group of motor cyclists he was travelling with at the Gartarry roundabout near Clackmannan.

Wasps aim to deliver a stong armed with 21st century crest

NEW LOOK: The new crest
 ALLOA Athletic will go into the new season with an extra sting in their tail after unveiling their new club crest last week.
 
The new logo features a large wasp with clenched fists and links the club to the new WASP leisure centre, situated beside Recreation Park.

Car accident claims life of much loved 21-year-old

 A MUCH-LOVED young Sauchie man killed in a Fife car crash on Sunday night (June 6) has been described as an “angel” by friends and family.  
 
 Former Lornshill Academy pupil Kevin Kippen, 21, died after his white BMW hit a Land Rover on  Halbeath Road, Dunfermline shortly after 10pm.

 FORMER Alloa Athletic player Willie Irvine denied charges of drink-driving after being stopped in Tillicoultry earlier this year.
 
The 46-year-old former Hibernian player, who recently took over as manager of junior side Pollock, is accused of driving his BMW 325i Se (Coupe) on Moss Road, Tillicoultry while over the drink drive limit

Nationalists claim victory in Cambus school buses fight

SAFETY: SNP Cllr Paterson and Murphy
 PLANS to halt free school buses for Cambus schoolchildren have reached the end of the road after opposition councillors defeated the proposal.
 
The move to drop the transport service for primary and secondary children would have saved more than £38,500 however SNP councillors say the plans would have put children's live at risk.

  A CAMBUS man who witnessed a terrifying helicopter crash involving one of Scotland’s top tycoons last week has spoken of his experience.
 
Stunned George Peddie was working on a construction site near Loch Long last Tuesday when the chopper carrying millionaire Keith Punler plunged into the water.

Road race championships win for Cambus cycling star Jane

 CAMBUS cyclist Jane Barr won the Scottish women’s road race championship last Sunday in Dumfries.
Stirling Bike Club member Jane, 28, said: “My legs had nothing left at the end so I finished fourth, but was ecstatic at winning the Scottish championship.”
