![]() FIRE: Crews clear the debris Firefighters and ambulance crews rushed to the scene in the Hennings region late on Friday morning after the owner saw smoke coming out of the right-hand side of the house.
The man received treatment at the scene for smoke inhalation. The occupants discovered the fire after returned from a funeral as two engines raced to the scene. The heat of the blaze left a path of destruction along the driveway including a prize Harley Davidson motorbike, a series of power tools as well as pieces of garden equipment and golf clubs. Crews were on the scene within minutes and used hose reel jet equipment to extinguish the fire. The owners confirmed there was no-one in the house at the time of the incident and they arrived home to find the garage full of smoke. As they approached the house they were pushed back by the volume of smoke and called the fire brigade immediately. They praised the fire service for their quick response and expressed their relief that nobody was harmed in the incident. Neighbours were quick to offer support to the couple who said they were extremely shocked by the whole ordeal. Crews were still trying to determine the exact cause of the fire although they confirmed the incident had been confined to the garage and the rest of the house remained untouched. A spokeswoman for Central Scotland Fire and Rescue Service said: “Two fire engines were called to a garage fire in Sauchie. One crew from Alloa and a crew from Stirling attended the scene. “At 11.06am an ambulance was called to the scene as a precautionary measure and treated one male for smoke inhalation at the scene but no further hospital treatment was required.”
