![]() AXE MAN: David Dewar David Dewar’s victim needed two internal stitches after being struck on the hip with an axe.
Dewar lost the plot after he came to be-lieve people were throwing bricks at his house on Izatt Terrace in Clackmannan on June 8, 2008. The 29-year-old, now from Edgehill Close, in Folkestone, Kent, called the police but decided to take matters into his own hands when the force was “too slow” in responding. Dewar’s victim had to get internal stitches on a four-centimetre wound on his hip at Stirling Royal Infirm-ary’s A&E and has been left with a scar as a permanent reminder of the violent attack. Dewar, who was on bail from Alloa Sheriff Court at the time of the offence, pleaded guilty on Monday (March 8) to the charge of ass-aulting his victim on the body with an axe, causing injury and permanent disfigurement. Dewar’s not-guilty plea to a charge of failing to appear at Alloa Sheriff Court was accepted by the prosecution. Sentencing was adjourned for background reports and Dewar will return to court for sentencing on April 15.
