![]() CELEBRATION TIME: Bryan Prunty The late win put Alloa into second in the table and the significance of the goal was not lost on the manager.
He said: “It was a magnificent result for us. I thought we showed elements of desperation in our play but we showed plenty of effort and determination and that was enough to win the game.” The visitors were a man down for the whole second half after Steven Hislop’s red card and Maitland praised their resiliance. He said: “You have to give credit to Arbroath because I thought whether it was 11 men or 10 men they defended heroically at times but we didn’t put them under enough pressure. They were excellent. We gave them encouragement by not having enough chances in the game. “The games we’ve struggled in already this season – against Stenhousemuir, Dumbarton and of course the first game against Arbroath – have all been against teams that have made it difficult and sat in and today that is exactly what happened and we struggled with that.” Goalscorer Prunty maintained his 100 per cent start
