ALLOA secured their first league win of the season over a determined East Fife side at Recreation Park on Saturday.

 

Once again Recreation Park was the place to be for entertainment as the sides shared five goals with two penalties to throw into the mix as the Wasps ensured they made a decent start to the campaign.

 ANGRY Allan Maitland refused to be content after seeing his team snatch a point in his 200th game as Alloa boss.

 

Three second-half goals gave Alloa a dramatic draw with Andy Scott’s 90th minute penalty ensuring a share of the spoils against the only full-time team in the league.

 ALLAN Maitland was left to rue his side’s bad luck as two late goals saw the Wasps exit the ALBA Challenge Cup in agonising fashion at the Dens Park on Saturday.

 

Scott Walker powered home a header after 74 minutes to put the club on the verge of a cup upset but late strikes from Colin McMenamin and Sean Higgins ensured that the cup holders squeezed past a determined Alloa side.

 ALLAN Maitland can’t wait for Alloa’s season to get underway at Dens Park at the weekend as they take on Dundee in the ALBA Challenge Cup.

 

The Alloa boss has put his side through their paces in pre-season and can’t wait for a return to competitive action.
